Victorville is a city located in San Bernardino County, California, United States. It was founded in 1895 by Jacob Nash Victor, who was a prominent explorer and railroad surveyor. The city was originally called Victor, but later changed its name to Victorville in 1901 when the U.S. Post Office was established.
During the early 1900s, Victorville was a hub for silver and gold mining in the nearby mountains. The city also served as a stop for the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroads, which brought trade and commerce to the area. Victorville continued to grow throughout the 20th century, especially during World War II when it became a strategic location for military installations and training facilities.
In the late 1960s, Interstate 15 was constructed through Victorville, which increased commerce and transportation in the area. Today, Victorville is a bustling city with over 120,000 residents and a diverse economy that includes manufacturing, logistics, and retail.
